Construction of the 2024 Crack & Chip Sealing Program in the Village of Darien includes three work sections, Madison Street, Kathy Lane/3rd Street/Sandy Circle, & Donna Avenue/Candy Lane. The work consists of crack sealing & chip sealing of existing asphaltic pavement. Major work items and approximate quantities include: Chip Seal Coating: Section 1 - 4520 SY; Section 2 - 5500 SY; and Section 3 - 3150 SY and Crack Sealing for each of the work sections as a LS. This is a unit price contract. The estimated quantities as indicated above and on the Bid Schedule are inserted only for the purpose of determining the low bidder. Project is to be substantially complete on, or before, September 27, 2024. Bids shall be accompanied by Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, certified check, or cashier's check made payable to the Owner in an amount of 5 percent of the Bidder's maximum Bid price. If the successful bidder fails to execute the contract and furnish the required bonds within 15 days after the Award, the Bid Security shall be forfeited to Owner as liquidated damages. Bidder awarded a contract for the work shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the full amount of the contract price. Prime Contractor(s) shall furnish listing of all subcontractors and suppliers performing labor and supplying materials under the Contract that individually have a total value of $1,000 or more. All bidders must file a "Bidders Qualification Statement" with the Owner on or before seven (7) calendar days prior to bid opening, unless already on file with the Village. Failure to submit a "Bidders Qualification Statement" by the date noted may be cause for disqualification and/or rejection of Bid. Owner reserves the right to reject any and all Bids, to waive any and all informalities not involving price, time or changes in the Work and the right to disregard all nonconforming, non-responsive, unbalanced or conditional Bids and the right to accept the Bid or Bids which best serve the interests of the Owner, subject to the provisions of Wisconsin Statutes, Sections 62.15 and 66.0901.
