Emergency Modifications - Buena Outfall Forcemain Phase III Project The Work generally consists of: Installation of appurtenances to an existing wastewater pipeline along Palomar Airport Road between Paseo Del Norte and El Camino Real. The project will relocate five existing air vacuum relief valves from within manholes in center westbound lane of Palomar Airport Road to above ground locations. The work includes modifications to raise three (3) air vacuum valves and construct dual air vacuum assemblies at grade, and two (2) modifications to raise single air vacuum valves with reconstruction at grade, with one (1) new addition of a dual air vacuum valve to grade by way of modification within an existing gravity manhole with improvements to couple and construct a continuous pressurized pipeline segment, and installation of one (1) new single air vacuum valve in a unimproved easement area northeast of Palomar Airport Road and El Camino Real. The work also includes modifications to convert fifteen (15) gravity pipeline segments within manholes to segments of continuous pressure pipeline at various locations along the alignment and includes mechanical and electrical improvements to protect two existing Odor Control Units from flooding when the system experiences higher flows in winter wet weather periods. The construction includes but is not limited to the above noted improvements in addition to asphalt and portland cement concrete removals, trenching, excavation, over-excavation, backfilling and compaction, pipeline modifications, mechanical piping, appurtenance installation, installation of electrical systems, restoration of existing surface improvements, irrigation, and erosion control and BMPs. An existing pipeline is available for bypassing the full flow during the project construction and no flow diversions or bypass pumping is required by the contractor to execute the work.
