The project includes Scarifying and Asphalt Paving of selected sections of local streets in the Borough of Rochester, PA. All work and specifications shall be in accordance with PENNDOT Publication 408 latest edition unless otherwise noted. All bidders must provide evidence of PENNDOT prequalification. Each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check, bank check, money order or bidder surety bond in the amount specified in instructions to bidders as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into, and its performance properly secured. A bid security in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. This shall be in the form of a certified check, or bid bond with good and sufficient surety. A Performance Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties, for the protection of the Owner, shall be executed in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. A Payment Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties for the protection of persons furnishing material and labor of the work shall be executed in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. In addition to the contract security noted above, a Maintenance Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties in a penal amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and shall guarantee against defective or inferior materials or workmanship which may develop during the period of two (2) years from the date of the completion and acceptance of work performed under each contract.
