The Town of Essex invites you to prepare a Bid for the Town of Essex, Vermont FY 2025 Paving Program. Bid packages are available at the Town Public Works Office, 5 Jericho Road, Essex Center. Electronic copies are also available upon request. Questions can be directed to the Town Public Works Office at (802) 878-1344. Work Included: The Contractor shall provide adequate traffic control during paving operations, and maintain at least one lane open to vehicular traffic at all times. The entire length of the Project shall then receive a 1.5 inch Type III bituminous concrete wearing course pavement over-lay. The Contractor shall key the new pavement into the existing pavement at Station 0+00 with a pavement transition key that is at least l-A inches deep and 10.0 feet wide across the entire width ofthe road. At paved driveway aprons, the Contractor shall install a pavement transition key that is at least 1 inch deep and two feet wide through the entire width ofthe driveway apron along the edge of the travel way as determined by Town Engineer. The construction of pavement transition keys at intersections and driveway aprons are considered incidental to the Type III B.C. Pavement (1.5 Inch Thick) Pay Item.
