A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Sports and Recreational Equipment and Supplies and Accessories The City of Gaithersburg is seeking to obtain services of a qualified vendor to furnish labor, equipment, and material to replace approximately 16,500 SQFT of existing polyurethane gymnasium flooring system with the following characteristics: dual-durometer, padded monolithic polyurethane, and multifunctioning athletic flooring system. The site is located at: Activity Center 506 S. Frederick Avenue Gaithersburg, MD 2087 The successful Offeror shall: i. Isolate work area by installing dust barriers and installing temporary filters for HVAC return air inlets; ii. Remove and store existing bleachers safely in the facility (location to store bleachers will be discussed during kick off meeting); iii. Demolish the existing floor system in its entirety up to concrete substrate; iv. Replace volleyball net posts sleeves; v. Replace gymnastic floor anchors vi. Fill-in unused penetrations (electrical outlets) with concrete/cement; vii. Install metal transitions strips between new gym floor and adjacent existing floors; viii. Prepare existing concrete substrate as per the new floor product manufacturer; ix. Install new durable pour-in-place seamless polyurethane system with shock pad. The topping components consist of PolyTurf urethane synthetic compounds or equivalent and shall be continuously bonded to the substrate and produce a monolithic wearing surface; x. Install game line markers and City logo as per the City provided drawing; and xi. Reinstall bleachers and test for proper operations. The existing floor system is approximately 1/2 (0.5) inch in thickness. All questions must be submitted in writing, through email to the Procurement division at procurement@gaithersburgmd.gov. The City anticipates awarding the contract in July-August 2024 and the gymnasium will be available for Contractor to commence the work on Aug 17, 2024. The Contractor is required to substantially complete the work (new floor installation is ready for use) no later than November 9, 2024.
