Site work for a water / sewer project in Halifax, North Carolina. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

Water/Sewer Directed Projects grant from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) for the towns Phase 1 - Sewer Improvement Project. The Phase I - Sewer Improvement Project will provide for: Pump Station (PS) Replacement - Complete replacement of the Convenience Store PS, which serves as the Town's main pump station transporting wastewater to the Town of Weldon WWTP. Replacement will also include installation of a new emergency generator. Quankey Hills PS Rehabilitation - Portions of this pump station will be rehabbed / repaired including new electrical controls and system and equipment to address grease issues. Pump Station Standby Power-Install a permanent generator for the Quankey Hills pump station to provide standby power in event of an emergency. This pump station is currently not equipped with a generator. Doing so will ensure resiliency and redundancy of critical wastewater pumping and transmission systems, ensuring continuous operation during times of power loss. Main Sewer Meter Replacement - Complete replacement of the existing master meter that monitors wastewater flow from the Town of Halifax to the Town of Weldon WWTP. This will include the installation of a new vault, meter, piping and other related components. The selected engineering firm will support the Town of Halifax by providing the following services: Scope of Work: 1. Replace Convenience Store Pump Station 2. Rehab/Repair Quankey Hill Pump Station to include new electrical controls and system and equipment to address grease issues. 3. Install a permanent Generator for the Quankey Hills Pump Station to provide standby power in the event of an emergency. 4. Complete replacement of the existing master meter that monitors wastewater flow from the Town of Halifax to the Town of Weldon WWTP. This will include The installation of new vault, meter, piping and other related components. During the course of this project, both the Town of Halifax and the North Carolina Division of Water Infrastructure (NCDWI) will be provided regular updates as to this project's progress. At a minimum, all parties will updates every other month. Additionally, project deliverables, both in draft and final form, will be provided to NCDWI.
