Work includes the construction of a new speed table with a raised midblock crosswalk equipped with a median refuge island and a High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal, a parking lot, drainage infrastructure, concrete sidewalks, driveways, and pedestrian curb ramps, new granite curbing, resetting of existing granite curbing and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings at various locations within the City of Springfield. Estimated total cost of the base bid in the project: $2.26 million. Questions must be submitted to the attention of Lauren Stabilo, Chief Procurement Officer (lstabilo@springfieldcityhall.com ) The work shall commence by May 1, 2024 (or when a Formal Notice to Proceed has been issued or whenever Contract is fully executed) and be completed within 518 consecutive calendar days (17 months) (by September 30, 2025) inclusive ofwinter shutdown. All questions regarding bid or its specifications must be received by the Office ofProcurement no later than April 11, 2024 by 4:00 P.M The conditions of employment and wage rates, as set forth by the Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety shall prevail in the execution of the work under this contract. In order for a bid to be deemed valid, the Contractor must be prequalified by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation in the specific class of work with a single contract limit at or above the dollar value of the project.
