Renovation of a water / sewer project in Quinte West, Ontario. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The work of this Contract includes removal and replacement of filter media and all appurtenant work in four (4) wastewater filters; - Trenton Wastewater Treatment Plant - 25 Couch Crescent (2), - Frankford Wastewater Treatment Plant - 174 North Trent Street (2). Dependent on the proposed replacement strategy, work will include but not necessarily be limited to the following: - Provide all labour, equipment and materials to remove, transport, and dispose of, the existing sand and anthracite from the filters. - Provide all labour, equipment and materials to supply and install the replacement sand (and anthracite in Frankford). - Provide all labour to perform spot repairs to perforated underdrain plates as needed, on a provisional basis. - Provide measures to prevent filter media from spilling, alternatively to provide all labour to remove any media that is spilled or otherwise become lodged or retained in onsite catch basins, drainage swales or sedimentation ponds. - Supply all supplemental lighting needed to perform all aspects of the work. - Provide generators for the supply of any electrical power required for undertaking the works if onsite power is not available. - Provide technical assistance as required. - Coordinate with the City for connections for temporary water. - Provide all labour, chemicals and pumping equipment necessary for modifying the pH of wastewater from the conveying process for anthracite or from filter backwash water after installation of replacement media for compliance with the requirements of the respective facility ECAs, and this specification, prior to discharge. All environmental protection considerations must be made prior to environmental discharge. The Contract shall take effect on the award (the "Effective Date") and shall be in effect until the project is substantially complete on or before October 31, 2024.
