SCOPE OF WORK A. This project titled Lighting Fixture Upgradesî consists of the following major elements 1. Upgrade/retrofit of existing lighting fixtures to LED; 2. Lighting control upgrades and improvements; 3. All other work indicated on the drawings and in the project manual for this project. For Lighting Fixture Upgrades to Barack H. Obama Learning Academy, 16448 Park Avenue, Markham, Illinois, and Jesse C. White Learning Academy, 16910 South Western Avenue, Hazel Crest, IL 60429 Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond or Certified Check for 5% (five percent) of the bid, a contract shall be entered into and the performance of the contract is properly secured. The successful Bidder of the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, with sureties to be approved by the Architect. Accordingly, the Owner and the Contractor agree that the Owner shall be entitled to retain or recover from the Contractor, as liquidated damages and not as a penalty, an amount equal to Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($500.00) each day after the specified date of scheduled Substantial Completion until certified Substantial Completion is obtained, plus an amount equal to Five Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($500.00) each day after the specified date of scheduled Final Completion until certified Final Completion is obtained. Final completion shall be achieved not later than 15 working days beyond substantial completion. Final completion, as it pertains to this contract, The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or bids.
