Renovation of a civil project in Davie, Florida. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

The Southwest wastewater treatment plant has four percolation ponds as a means for disposal. These ponds are currently limiting the processing capacity of the plant from 0.99 mgd average day flow to 0.35 MGD average day flow. Additionally during maintenance of the ponds, wastewater flow is routed to the sawgrass wastewater plant via the Shotgun Road forcemain. During heavy rains, the plant is also limited by these ponds therefore requiring to route majority of the flow from southwest to sawgrass plant. Installing a deep injection well relieves the capacity constraints at the southwest plant, relieves the capacity of the forcemain along Shotgun Road and also relieves the capacity of the Sawgrass wastewater treatment plant. This project replaces the fifth percolation pond recommended in the master plan. The project is included in the City's 2026-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of November 25, 2025, further details have not yet been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
