West Virginia University on behalf of its Board of Governors ("BOG") located in Morgantown, West Virginia ("WVU" or "University") is initiating this Request for Bids ("RFB") from qualified, experienced, and licensed Contractors to replace windows at four (4) buildings on the West Virginia University-Institute of Technology campus in Beckley, WV. The bid/proposal process is highly controlled. To protect the integrity of the process, any questions or clarifications regarding this Request for Bid/Proposal must be handled through the Department of Procurement, Contracting, & Payment Services. Cutoff for Questions DATE: 04/12/2024 TIME: 12:00pm EST Questions MUST be submitted directly on the solicitation website on the Q&A Board. Cost fluctuations must change by more than one percent (l %) before adjustments will be considered. Adjustments shall be limited to a five percent (5%) escalation or de-escalation, and all changes or modifications must be agreed upon in writing by both Parties. Bidding Four (4) Buildings all located on the campus of WVU Institute of Technology in Beckley, WV o Price each building separately. The goal is to complete work all at one time. Classroom Building Benedum Center Carter Hall Interdisciplinary Science Building (ISB) Alternate 1 - Classroom Building: Add two storefront windows on front of building, along with one double door. Scope of Work Must visit campus and field verify window sizes and style Remove window blinds, clean, and save to reinstall at end of project Remove and properly dispose of old windows Clean and prepare rough openings Install proper vapor barrier Make sure there is a positive slope on the window sill Install new windows. Match existing size and style o Aluminum Frame - Architecture bronze o Double Pane o Energy Efficient o Low E coating o Minimum of 40 STC rating o 10-Year warranty Level and plumb window as needed and center window in opening Install flashing with silicone sealant Finish interior of window and trim Paint walls and trim if affected by new installation. This must match existing color and be painted with minimum of two (2) coats of Sherwin Williams paint. WVU Tech has color schemes for each building Clean newly installed windows inside and out Reinstall window blinds Clean up any debris and trash from installation Base Bid Classroom Building, 380 South Kanawha Street o Window Count: 60 o Types of windows Aluminum Frame - Architecture bronze Single hung style. (One window marked on photo that will need both windows removable to access roof.) Install tamper proof locks/screws so windows open up 4" on sliders Some windows will have frosted glass.
