Renovation of a municipal facility in Raleigh, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Removal and replacement of the existing closed-loop, 56 tons cooling tower with a new Direct replacement closed-loop, model number BAC CCT NS- BAC VFL-036-32M. All exterior piping is to be heat-traced and insulated with metal jackets. Work also may include minor alterations to the existing concrete pad as well as all associated piping and electrical requirements Project Scope: o Removal and replacement of the existing 56-ton closed-loop cooling tower with a new closedloop direct replacement cooling tower. Exact make and model number for the cooling tower is Baltimore Aircoil, BAC CCT NS- BAC VFL-036-32M. All exterior piping is to be heat-traced and insulated with metal jackets. Work may also include minor alterations to the existing concrete pad as well as all associated piping and electrical requirements. o Removal and replacement of existing supply and return butterfly valves and flanges. o Removal and replacement of existing building circulation pump. o Removal and installation work will be conducted on weekend only. o Contractor responsible for electrical disconnect and draining the system prior to removal. o Contractor must have all materials for the project on site before work can commence. o Contractor to provide all necessary rigging, scaffolding and/or high lift and safety equipment forremoval and installation of all work associated with project. Temporary fencing/barricades and signage to be provided by Contractor in compliance with OSHA requirements. o All contractor workers on site must wear identification badges and/or must have visible on outer garments the Contractor's company name and carry personal identification. o The Contractor's employees shall always adhere to proper conduct. No smoking, no weapons of any type, alcohol or illegal drugs shall be carried or consumed by employees of the Contractor on City of Raleigh premises. o Inspections/Testing: The Contractor's superintendent is to be on site during inspections/testing of all new work/systems. All inspections/testing to be coordinated with Owner and/or Project Manager and shall be made at least 24 hours in advance. o Contractor will perform start-up according to manufacture specs. o Contractor will add water treatment (glycol) to the system upon start up. Contractor must provide product MSD sheets to the Owner. Question Deadline 04/16/2024 at 4:00 PM ET, City of Raleighs Response to Questions: Tuesday, April 23rd, 2024 Bidders will be required to show evidence that they are licensed to perform the work in the Bidding Documents as required by North Carolina General Statute, Chapter 87. Pursuant to North Carolina General Statutes 143-128.2 et seq. and 143-131, and in accordance with City policy, the City of Raleigh encourages and provides equal opportunity for certified Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) businesses to participate in all aspects of the City's contracting and procurement programs to include: Professional Services, Goods and Other Services, and Construction. The prime contractor will be required to identify participation of MWBE businesses in their proposal and demonstrate how that participation will be achieved. The City's goal is to contract and sub-contract fifteen percent (15%) of the total contract amount to Certified MWBEs on construction projects of $300,000 or more, or contracts of $100,000 or more that include any State funding. No Bid may be withdrawn for Forty-Five (45) days after opening time. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities.
