The City of Diamond is accepting bids for construction of a walking trail in Dieckhoff Park. The City of Diamond will accept bids clearly marked City of Diamond Walking Trail. The City of Diamond reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids. Project 1) Construction of an approximately 1,310 liner feet of 6' wide asphalt trail, consisting of asphalt sidewalk typically 2" on top of 4" type 1 aggregated compacted to 95% standard proctor density, extend 6" past edge of sidewalk. The subgrade shall be compacted to 85% standard proctor density. NOTES: 1. All sidewalks are to be built per the current edition of the Missouri Standard Plans for Highway Construction and the City of Battlefield's Design Standards For Public Improvements. 2. Provide control joints at 8' o.c. 3. Provide expansion joints every 100' and 10' on each side of driveways, intersecting walks match points with existing pavements, and locations as shown on plans. 4. Concrete driveways -if cross-slope <2% existing pavement is acceptable as sidewalk. If cross-slope >2% driveway must be sawcut and removed as required to install sidewalk with a maximum 2% cross-slope. Replace to nearest joint unless approved by engineer. 5. Asphalt driveways -install sidewalk across driveway as shown in plan. 6. No sidewalk cross-slope can exceed 2% including sidewalks across driveways. 7. The maximum running slope of sidewalks is <5% if the running slope on a sidewalk not classified as a curb ramp exceeds 5% handrails will be required. 8. The maximum running slope on a sidewalk classified as a curb ramp is 0.33% (7.5% max preferred).
