Renovation of a municipal facility in Norwalk, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

The insurance required shall be written for not less than the scope and limits of insurance specified hereunder, or required by applicable federal, state and/or municipal law, regulation or requirement, whichever coverage requirement is greater. It is agreed and understood that the scope and limits of insurance specified hereunder are minimum requirements and shall in no way limit or preclude the City from requiring additional limits and coverage to be provided under the Contractor's policies. The insurance obligations under this agreement shall be (1) all the insurance coverage and/or limits carried by or available to the Contractor; or (2) the minimum insurance coverage requirements and/or limits shown in this agreement, whichever is greater. Owner Rights: The City of Norwalk has the right to reject any submission that does not meet this criteria. Liquidity Damages: Liquidated Damages, change to read "Liquidated damages as defined in Article 27 of the Norwalk General Conditions for Construction will be $100.00 per day. It is understood by the parties that timely completion of the Project is essential. Failure of the CONTRACTOR to complete the Project by the date stated herein will result in the CITY and the public incurring damages, additional costs and inconveniences that would be impossible or extremely difficult to accurately quantify at the time. Therefore, the parties agree that, if the CONTRACTOR fails to satisfactorily complete the Project hereunder within the time specified or within any extension of time that may have been allowed, there shall be deducted from any monies due or that may become due the CONTRACTOR, the sum of HUNDRED DOLLARS for each and every calendar day, including Saturdays and legal holidays, that the Project remains incomplete in accordance with Article 5 of this Contract. This sum shall not be imposed as a penalty, but as liquidated damages due the CITY from the CONTRACTOR by reason of the damages incurred, inconvenience and additional costs and expenses to the public together with other problems suffered as a result of any such delay thereby occasioned. All questions concerning this solicitation must be directed, via e-mail, to Carleen Megaro, Buyer. The deadline for the submission of questions is 2:00 pm, April 17, 2024.
