SCOPE OF WORK/DESCRIPTION OF ITEMS (SPECIFICATIONS) The purpose of this Quick Quote is to establish a contract with one (1) Contractor to remove existing filter media (sand) and replace with new filter media (sand) at the Bland Correctional Center, Water Treatment Plant located at 256 Bland Farm Road, Bland, VA 24315. Contractor shall: 1. Provide all tools, labor, equipment, materials, incidentals and supervision to complete the work 2. Remove existing filter media (sand) in one (1) 8ft x 8ft filter 3. Properly dispose of removed filter media (sand) 4. Furnish and install new filter media (sand) in one (1) 8ft x 8ft filter a. total depth: 30 inches b. effective size: 0.35mm to 0.45mm c. uniformity coefficient: not greater than 1.6 d. new filter media must be prewashed and dried TESTING AND INSPECTION: The Commonwealth reserves the right to conduct any test/inspection it may deem advisable to assure goods and services conform to the specifications. ANNOUNCEMENT OF AWARD: Upon the award or the announcement of the decision to award a contract as a result of this solicitation, the purchasing agency will publicly post such notice in for a minimum of 10 days. BID ACCEPTANCE PERIOD: Any bid in response to this solicitation shall be valid for (60) days. At the end of the days the bid may be withdrawn at the written request of the bidder. If the bid is not withdrawn at that time it remains in effect until an award is made or the solicitation is canceled. INSPECTION OF JOB SITE: My signature on this solicitation constitutes certification that I have inspected the job site and am aware of the conditions under which the work must be accomplished. Claims, as a result of failure to inspect the job site, will not be considered by the Commonwealth.
