This project will provide for yearly repair and replacement of the 205-mile city water main system to maintain resiliency and reliability of the City’s water distribution system. The City’s goal is to adhere to the industry standard 100-year replacement schedule by replacing two miles of water main per year. This project is included in the City of Santa Monica's 2025-2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). As of March 24, 2026, this is an annual CIP project and is expected to be completed in house or through an annual service contract. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
