Site work and paving for a road / highway in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
No undated, unsigned, late, incomplete, emailed, or faxed proposals will be considered. The City is not responsible for late or misdirected mail or cartage therefore hand delivery is advised. Bidders must submit pre-qualification packet prior to the opening of bids to the City Clerk's office. Bid will not be awarded until Pre-Qual is approved. A 5% Bid Bond is required. All bids shall be F.O.B. destination, pre-paid and allowed in the Clerk's Office with no charges for packing or cartage. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to accept any proposal deemed most advantageous to the City of Lake Geneva. Proposals should be made exclusive of these taxes. Exemption Registry number will be furnished to the successful proposer. Additional requirements included in bid packet. Proposers shall not contact any Staff or Elected Official other than those listed as a contact in the bid documents, doing so shall be grounds for disqualification. Proposed price shall be all-inclusive for Joint & Crack Cleaning & Sealing with no part being "to be done by others." DESCRIPTION: This work consists of sawing or routing and cleaning cracks and joints in asphalt surfaces and then sealing these prepared cracks and joints with an approved sealing material. It also includes removal and replacement of loose sealant from earlier work/contracts. The work excludes the long joint between the asphalt pavement and concrete gutter unless specifically noted. MATERIALS: The joint sealer shall be a material meeting requirements of ASTM D 3405. An elastic type, hot-pour sealer will be required. Or approved alternate. Material will be reheated only once and in small quantities. Prolonged heating up to six (6) hours will be permissible. The backer rod used in conjunction with this sealer shall be made of cellulose, cotton, or plastic foam. The backer rod must withstand, without damage, the high temperatures inherent to these sealers. The backer rod shall be of a size that compression is required for installation in the crack, so it maintains its position during the filling operation. All sealant materials and separating and blocking medium shall be certified or tested and approved by the engineer before being incorporated into the work. The Contractor shall furnish a complete written statement of the origin, composition and manufacture of any or all material that are to be used in the work. Where installation procedures or any part thereof are required to be in accordance with recommendations of the manufactures of sealing compounds, the Contractor shall submit catalogue data and copies of recommendations prior to installation o
