Road Construction, Resurfacing, Patching & Furnishing of Roadway Paving Materials with Labor and Equipment The work requires the furnishing of Class I bituminous concrete paving course Type I-1, which may or may not include milling as set forth in the following specifications. The work under this contract also includes patching of potholes furnishing Class I bituminous concrete paving course Type I-1 in place, per square yard as well as all associated materials and equipment and items such as street sweeping, catch basin cleaning and excavation. This is an annual paving contract for the Steamship Authority. The exact quantities have yet to be determined; the quantities shown are given for the purpose of comparison of bid prices ONLY and are strictly estimates. This contract will be awarded to one contractor for a term to end December 31, 2025, with options to extend such term for up to three (3) one (1) year extensions, beginning January 1, 2026, and if extended would end December 31, 2028, unless terminated. The Steamship Authority shall retain sole discretion in exercising the aforesaid options, and no exercise of any of those options by the Steamship Authority shall be subject to agreement or acceptance by the successful bidder. The Contractor will be required to pay prevailing rates of wages for all work performed on the project in accordance with the schedule of minimum wage rates issued for the projects by the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Occupational Safety under the provisions of Mass. G.L.c.149, 26 and 27. Each bid must be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the "Woods Hole, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket Steamship Authority" in the name of which the contract for the work is to be executed. The amount of such bid deposit shall be five percent (5%) of the TOTAL CONTRACT PRICE set forth in the bid. The Steamship Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to modify or amend with the consent of the bidder any bid prior to acceptance, and to waive any informality, all as the Authority in its sole judgment and discretion may deem to be in the public interest.
