This project will construct a new parking lot on the west side of Christensen Drive at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Work will include, but is not limited to, site clearing and grubbing, grading, installation of underground utilities (storm sewer and electric), subgrade preparation, concrete sidewalks, curb and gutter, HMA paving, parking lot lighting and surface restoration. Questions regarding the scope of work should be directed to the Design Professional. Project Information: Substantial Completion: 160 Days (Approximately November 4, 2024) Final Completion: 220 Days (Approximately January 3, 2025) Bid Estimate: $545,000.00 Bid security shall be agreed upon as the measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain by failure, neglect or refusal of bidder to deliver a signed contract stipulating performance of the Work in unqualified compliance with Contract Documents. Successful bidder will be required to furnish a Contract Performance and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract sum within ten (10) days after receipt of Notice of Award. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa seeks to provide opportunities for Targeted Small Businesses in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 73 of the Code of Iowa. This project has a participation goal of 10% for certified Targeted Small Businesses as specified in the Project Requirements. The Board of Regents, State of Iowa, reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept that bid which is deemed in the best interest of the Owner. A. Full depth sawcut, demolition and removal of pavements. B. Demolition and removal of pavement as indicated in the Plans. C. Remove materials and equipment from site. D. Cap and identify active utilities as indicated in the Plans. E. Remove utilities as indicated on the Plans. The Contractor shall schedule all disconnects with Owner. F. The area of demolition within the project limits will be filled, compacted, and graded or as otherwise indicated in the Plans.
