Fire Alarm System Replacement. Question Deadline 05/09/2024 Addendum to be Issued via online. for Responses to Questions: 5/10/24 This Request for Proposal (RFP) is for Fire Alarm System Replacement at the Water Engineering building located at 300 N 65th St, the ESDC building located at 6742 Riverview Ave., and Muncie building located at 380 S. Baltimore Ave@ 1:00 PM The Kansas City Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is seeking proposals from interested proposers for the replacement of existing fire alarm systems at Water Engineering, ESDC, and Muncie buildings. The existing fire alarm system equipment includes smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, carbon monoxide, and keypads. Notification appliances include strobes & horn strobes. ESDC and Muncie equipment are wired to ADT alarm panels while Water Engineering equipment is wired to a Safeguard panel in the security room. ESDC also has a Fike fire suppression system wired to a Fike system panel; the Fike system is to remain but to be integrated into the new fire monitoring system. All existing smoke, heat, fire pulls, horn strobes, system wiring and panel equipment is to be replaced. The specification documents and drawings attached identify existing devices and locations of existing equipment. Proposer shall provide new equipment, installation and startup services based upon current fire code requirements The Purchaser shall withhold 5% retainage from each pay application. BPU will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities on an as-needed basis, provided prospective vendors give adequate notice. Interested parties are required to request documents through or by contacting the BPU Purchasing Department. Failure to do so shall result in rejection of bid. Bidders are required to use the printed proposal forms contained in the bid documents. M/WBE's are encouraged to participate in the bid process. The BPU reserves the right to reject any or all Proposals and waive irregularities therein, and all Proposers agree that such rejection shall be without liability on the part of the BPU for any penalty of any kind brought against the BPU because of such rejections.
