Site work and paving for a road / highway in Lac du Flambeau, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians will receive sealed proposals from qualified independent contractors to reconstruct a damaged portion of Canary Lane, located within the exterior boundaries of the Lac du Flambeau Reservation near French Lake in the Town of Lac du Flambeau, Vilas County. The portion of roadway to be reconstructed is approximately 2014.96 feet (.38 mile) in length. The project includes, but is not limited to: clearing and grubbing; excavation; grading; installation of aggregate, asphalt and a culvert; installing riprap, seeding, mulching and fertilizing to restore the construction area R.O.W., and all incidental functions necessary to complete the work as shown on the plans and included in the contract. All work will be performed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, codes and standards prevailing in the industry. A site visit is required. All bid proposals must include a 20% bid bond, a 50% payment bond, a 100% performance bond, and a list of recent road projects and performance references including their contact information. The successful bidder will be required to submit the necessary bonds, proof of insurance, safety plan, and a construction schedule. The successful bidder will enter into a Construction Contract with the Tribe. For response to questions, please contact Emerson Coy, LDF Director of Planning, via email at: ecoy@ldftribe.com. Proposals must comply with the requirements set forth in the RFP and be submitted, with copies, in a sealed envelope bearing the name and address of the bidder and the name of the project on the outside. The Tribe will not assume responsibility for proposals mailed in through public or private mailing services. The Tribe reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals, to waive technical defects and make the award to the bidder most competent to serve the Tribe's requirements. The road construction and related work to be performed by the successful bidder (Contractor) is set forth in the various addenda to this RFP. The Canary Lane Project, I.D. No. F5543250, is a BIA-funded project. Accordingly, federal construction guidelines apply to the project, as indicated on the specifications and drawings attached to this RFP. The Contractor must perform the full range of services related to reconstruction of a damaged section of roadway, totaling approximately totaling approximately 2014.96 feet (.38 mile), located on the Canary Lane, in the Town of Lac du Flambeau, Vilas County, and within the exterior boundaries of the Lac du Flambeau Reservation. Project details and specifications are set forth in the attached documents, described in Section 1 (PURPOSE) of this RFP. This project will include, but not be limited to, the following tasks: Initial grading, clearing and grubbing of trees and brush, pulverizing existing road surface, compact grading to elevation and for proper run-off of rain, supplying and installing aggregate, and resurfacing damaged portion of road. The Contractor shall be responsible for sampling and testing of materials and certifying materials used. All elevations and R.O.W. limits will be staked by the BIA inspector. Installation of a culvert in the area depicted on the drawings attached hereto. Silk fence will be used to protect wetlands from debris and runoff during construction. The Contractor will finish the work with riprap, seeding, mulching and fertilizing to restore the construction area R.O.W. Creation of a drainage area as depicted on the drawings attached hereto.
