The City of Sikeston is requesting the services of a consulting engineering firm to perform the described professional services including design and construction inspection services for the project included on the attached list. If your firm would like to be considered for these consulting services, you may express your interest by responding to the appropriate office, which is indicated on the attachments. Limit your letter of interest to no more than 10 pages. This letter should include any information which might help us in the selection process, such as the persons or team you would assign to each project, the backgrounds of those individuals, and other projects your company has recently completed or are now active. It is required that your firm's Statement of Qualification (RSMo 8.285 through 8.291) be submitted with your firm's Letter of Interest, or be on file with the City of Sikeston. The statement of qualification is not included in the total page count limit. DBE firms must be listed in the MRCC DBE Directory located on MoDOT's website n order to be counted as participation towards an established DBE Goal. We encourage DBE firms to submit letters of interest as prime consultants for any project they feel can be managed by their firm. Location: The next section of Rail Trail would commence approximately 500' west of South Ingram and continue approximately 2,200' east to connection with Veterans Park Proposed Improvement: The City of Sikeston desires to continue the developmentof a multi-phase conversion of the former Union Pacific Railroad Company rail corridor in Sikeston, Missouri, to a city operated trail facility. The City's goal is to develop a multi-use commuting trail that links to nearby park and trail systems, beautifying this corridor adjacent to one of the main thoroughfares through the city. The continued development of the trail will provide for alternate modes of transportation connecting neighborhoods to work places and schools. The trail wil allow for more safe, more convenient and ADA accessible options for walking and biking to jobs, commercial centers, the historic downtown district, schools, and other community destinations. The City of Sikeston has acquired the rights to a former Union Pacific rail corridor running approximately 732 miles along the north right-of-way of Malone Avenue from Scott County Route BB east to St. George Lane/541 on the east side of Miner, Missouri.
