The City of Toledo Department of Public Utilities is sending a contractor to replace customer side lead service lines from the curb stop to the meter. This project will also include the replacement of customer side service lines that have been designated as; "poor condition prior to exchange" or "leaking after exchange" in relation to the Department's meter exchange program. This project includes specialized work at many locations throughout the City of Toledo Water Distribution service area. The City reserves the right to add or subtract from the list at the City's discretion. The actual locations and scheduling will be determined by the Division of Water Distribution. Start/Delivery Date Upon Issued PO Expected Sequence of Work The following sequence of work is expected to occur at each location: City of Toledo Water Distribution or its meter replacement contractor will make an attempt to survey interior of proposed locations to inventory material type and location in residences. The Contractor will be responsible for obtaining permission to access private property and scheduling the work with the property owner or tenant. The City is not responsible for appointment cancellations or scheduling changes caused by the property owner/resident. Water Distribution will provide a notification letter on City letterhead to be printed and delivered by the Contractor. The Contractor will be required to replace the existing customer side service line from the curb stop valve to the building, into the building, and tie-in to the existing service meter. The Contractor shall expose the curb stop valve, verify pipe material on both sides, install new copper customer side service line to the building, through the building foundation, and connect to the existing service meter including all valves, bends, fittings, etc. needed to connect to the existing service meter per City of Toledo Construction Standards sheets 49-53 and the Toledo Municipal Code. All piping shall be replaced from the curb stop valve to the service meter. A new locking ball valve shall be installed upstream of the service meter per sheet 51 of the City of Toledo Construction Standards. The Contractor shall schedule for final review of the house line installation prior to backfilling the excavations or restoration inside the house. Project Duration TBD
