Demolition, site work and addition to a laboratory facility in Corvallis, Oregon. Completed plans call for the addition of a laboratory facility; for the demolition of a laboratory facility; and for site work for a laboratory facility.

Oregon State University ("OSU" and/or "Owner") is conducting a competitive ONE-STEP Request for Proposals (RFP) process to retain ONE (1) Contractor to provide Construction Services for Hinsdale Lab Additions (the "Project"). Background. Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon is located within the traditional homelands of the Mary's River or Ampinefu Band of Kalapuya. Following the Willamette Valley Treaty of 1855 (Kalapuya etc. Treaty), Kalapuya people were forcibly removed to reservations in Western Oregon. Today, living descendants of these people are a part of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of the Siletz Indians. Location. 3550 SW Jefferson Way, Corvallis, Oregon 97331. The O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory has been in operation since 1972, was expanded in 1989, and has had several expansions since 2001 including the existing driving and bicycling simulator addition within the west wing. More information can be found at website. Summary of Work. Oregon State University College of Engineering (COE) intends to renovate the Hinsdale Wave Research Lab to accommodate Engineering programs and research including a new construction safety simulator lab. Improvements to pedestrian safety and access, electrical upgrades, and a new sewer lateral will also be included. Scope of Services. The project will include the following scope items: Removal of an existing construction trailer from within the Hinsdale Wave Laboratory facility; Add a new safety simulator lab inside the facility, adjacent to the existing driving and bicycling simulator; Add door access controls to the main entry and new simulator lab; Reconstruct a section of parking at the entrance to provide adequate accessible parking spaces; Add a concrete pedestrian pathway from the building to the public sidewalk; Provide a new, 6-inch sewer lateral to connect into the Jefferson sewer main line; The ADDITIVE ALTERNATE (Replace a section of existing asphalt within the west wing with new structural concrete) described in the construction documents shall be part of the Base Bid. There are No Alternates required for this project. The contract time will be limited. Contractor will be required to achieve Substantial Completion of all contract work inside the existing Hinsdale Wave Research facility by December 26, 2024, and Final Completion of all work by March 30, 2025. If material lead times or other factors prevent completion by these dates, Proposers are asked to submit documentation during the solicitation question period. OSU is currently assessing the need to include some form of Actual/Consequential/Liquidated damages in the Contract should the contractor fail to achieve substantial completion within the time allowed. An incentive for on-time completion is also being considered with any proposed changes being included in an Addendum. Contractor will need to perform design validation, constructability, and value engineering reviews prior to start of construction to ensure project success.
