Renovation of an educational facility in Roxbury, Connecticut. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Regional School District No. 12 issues this Request for Proposal from Connecticut licensed contractors to replace the main & sub electrical distribution panels at Booth Free School, located at 14 South Street, Roxbury, Connecticut. The project includes the removal of existing equipment, namely 600A main switch, 600A main distribution panel, 400A remote sub-panel and associated metering in a coordinated sequence that allows for new equipment to be supplied, installed and commissioned with as little disturbance to the school building and its activities as possible. The main power switch, meter and distribution panels are located in a basement area. The remote power subpanel is located in a boiler room in a separate building. The two are connected by underground conduit. Wiring used to distribute power between the two panels in this underground conduit shall be reviewed and tested for its viability and reuse. As a component of the project, appropriate power needs and equipment sizing along with placement and location of new equipment will need to be determined. A review of previous billing, incoming power supply grid, local utility company's equipment, along with building use conditions should be considered while confirming the necessary equipment size and type to be installed. The district shall add a generator and may add ground mounted solar panels to the school at a future date. Consideration for future incorporation of a generator and solar panels is required in this project. The local utility supplier (EverSource) shall be consulted for coordination purposes including consideration of existing incoming conductors, metering, local transformer, existing building conditions and methods of replacement that would be acceptable to them. Any compensation required by the utility company associated with this project shall be the contractor's responsibility. The proposal shall include costs for coordinating all aspects of the project including, demolition and/or construction work, engineering design, all necessary stamped drawings, including a set of as-built drawings, any work with the local authorities for project permitting, labor and materials to complete the project in compliance with all applicable building codes, laws and regulations. Contractor shall be responsible to obtain and pay for all permits, licenses, certificates, registrations and approvals as required by law. Contractor shall be responsible for removal of any old existing equipment or demolition debris whether it be district or third party property not being necessary for the new configuration. Disposal of any debris should be done properly under CT State laws and regulations. Multiple shut-downs are required to accomplish the task of total replacement with minimum disruption to the school. The required shut downs of existing service during changeovers would need to be coordinated with the schools scheduled breaks based on its annual district calendar. The General Working Conditions set forth on the next page form an integral part of this Scope of Work for the Project and are fully incorporated herein. Municipal Meeting 06/05/2024 All Requests for Information must be received no later than May 17, 2024 by Donald O'Leary, Director of Facilities, at olearyd@region-12.org .
