The City of Palm Springs is requesting Bids from qualified firms to provide the City with the replacement of roadway light pole brackets at the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). Online Q&A Yes Q&A Deadline 08/06/2024 5:00 PM (PDT) Pre-Bid Meeting No Description :- Brackets, Banners, Bracket Install Charge, Banner Install Charge, Build a GIS Map and Numbering System A. Contractor shall determine an accurate count of roadway light poles on PSP's public roadways and build a GIS map and numbering system. No previous maps exist. B. Each light pole bracket is to be replaced. Poles with dual banner displays shall remain dual and single banner light poles shall remain single. C. Each light pole should be assigned a number on the map with a description that includes the number of banner brackets and any other pertinent information. D. Contractor shall physically number each pole with materials that will withstand the region's weather and last for 10+ years. E. Contractor shall replace all existing banner brackets that will allow for a quick and easy change out of banners that does not require tools or adjustments and that can withstand high winds. F. Contractor shall create a map outlining zones that will allow the airport to dictate individual zones for banner change out and/or banner replacement. 1) Terminal Roadway Center Median (median directly in front of the terminal) 2) Kirk Douglas Way 3) Main Airport Loop off El Cielo Entrance G. Contractor shall print and install banners for the entire airport public roadway system up to four times per year. H. Contractor shall print and install banners on the center median in front of the terminal up to six times per year. I. The new banner brackets should secure the banners to prevent wind damage and prevent the banners from being blown off by high winds. J. The banners should be 78" tall and 36" wide (we do not have measurements) and fabricated in a way that works with the new brackets to prevent wind damage or being blown off by the wind. Grommets installed on banners along the pole can be an additional way to secure them to the pole. New banner brackets should be placed in the exact locations as current banner brackets. K. Contractor shall maintain a stock of extra printed banners equal to 10% for replacement in case of wind or other type of damage, or if they go missing. The airport will own all banners. L. Contractor shall provide a stock of extra banner brackets equal to 10% of each type used for the Airport to own. M. Contractor shall be responsible for replacing damaged brackets from Airport stock during the term of the contract. N. At the direction of the airport, the contractor shall dispose of old banners that are no longer in use. O. Contractor may charge a mobilization charge per visit includes original install plus any call outs for wind damage, etc. P. Banner print files are designed for double sided printing. The pole numbers should be lower and close to the ground for easy viewing (new brackets are to be put in the exact same place and height as the existing brackets). Q. One advanced warning sign and cones is sufficient for a 75-foot taper (approximately 10) along the loop road will be required for closing any lane while work is being performed. Any work performed on Kirk Douglas Way will require advanced warning and one specific warning sign, with sufficient cones for a 145-foot taper (approximately 15). Goals for female participation in each trade: 6.9%
