Site work and paving for a road / highway in East Moline, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

The project is for various roads - scarify, grade and re-compact existing roadbed; A-2 Seal Coat Resurfacing. 2023 SEALCOAT PROGRAM SCARIFY, GRADE, AND RE-COMPACT This work shall include the scarification of existing aggregate/sealcoat, grading of scarified material to drain appropriately, and re-compacting of materials to 95% standard proctor density. This work is located on various streets as shown in the construction drawings. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to make a field visit prior to bidding. The intent of this item is to reconstitute and prepare existing street pavement into a stable base course suitable to receive an A-2 Sealcoat surface. The Contractor shall perform minor adjustments to the grade of utility structures as required in areas scarified; this work shall be incidental to the contract. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price per Square Yard for SCARIFY, GRADE, AND RECOMPACT, which price shall include all required labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete this item. AGGREGATE BASE COURSE This work shall be done in accordance with Section 351 of the Standard Specifications, except where modified herein. This item is a contingency item and the quantity indicated in the bid proposal may be increased or reduced as required for proper construction of the work proposed. The unit price bid for this item shall remain as-bid regardless of the increase or reduction in final quantity. Aggregate Base material shall be Type B; Aggregate Base material shall be CA-6. Aggregate Base shall be constructed to a thickness as required for positive drainage and a stable road base in the Engineer's judgment. This work shall be in locations scheduled for A-2 Seal Coat Resurfacing. It is anticipated there will be locations where the depth of existing bituminous/aggregate material is not sufficient to provide a suitable road base. In these locations, designated by the Engineer, the contractor shall add Aggregate Base material to supplement the roadway pavement section prior to A-2 surfacing. This work will be paid for at the contract unit price per ton for AGGREGATE BASE COURSE. Payment shall include furnishing, placing and compacting aggregate base material, and all other labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete this item. A-2 SEALCOAT This work shall be done in accordance with Section 403 of the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, except as modified herein. The Bituminous Materials (Sealcoat) shall be MC-3000 applied at a rate of 0.35 gal/s.y. The sealcoat Aggregate shall be CA-16 applied at a rate of 25 pounds/S.Y. Prime Coat (MC-3000) shall be applied to aggregate surfaces. This work shall be paid for at the contract unit price per Square Yard for A-2 SEALCOAT, which price shall include all required labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete this item. TRAFFIC CONTROL COMPLETE Traffic control shall be in accordance with the applicable sections of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction in Illinois", the applicable guidelines contained in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, Illinois Supplement to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, these Special Provisions, and any special details and Highway Standards contained herein and in the plans. The Contractor shall furnish barricades, signs, flashers, and warning devices for use at any area in which traffic will be affected by the construction activities and provide advance notification and warning signs well in advance of the street closure. Such devices will be provided by the Contractor as necessary for the safety of the general public and his workers and located and erected in sufficient quantity in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, latest edition. The Engineer may request additional signs, barricades, and other devices as required at no additional cost to the Owner. Pedestrian walkways shall be maintained free of any obstructions and hazards such as holes, debris, mud, construction equipment, stored materials, etc. All hazards (ditches, trenches, excavations, etc.) near or adjacent to walkways shall be clearly delineated. The price bid will include all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete this item. Payment will be made at the contract Lump Sum price for TRAFFIC CONTROL COMPLETE and shall be paid incrementally based on the percentage of work complete. MOBILIZATION This work shall comply with Section 671 of the "Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction in Illinois", insofar as applicable and as specified herein. The price bid will include all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete this item. Payment will be made at the contract Lump Sum price for MOBILIZATION and shall be paid at intervals as outlined in Section 671
