Each bid must be accompanied by a bid bond for an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the bid. If successful bidder fails to proceed with the contract, it shall forfeit the bid bond as liquidated damages and no mistakes or errors on the part of the bidder shall excuse or entitle it to a return of the aforementioned amount. No bid will be considered unless the bidder furnishes satisfactory evidence to the Board of Education that it has the necessary abilities, experience, equipment, financial, and physical resources available to fulfill the conditions of the contract and execute the work should the contract be awarded to the successful bidder. The successful bidder will be required to comply with the provisions of all State of Illinois and Federal Laws concerning public works projects as well as State of Illinois Human Rights Act and the regulations of the Illinois Human Rights Commission. The successful bidder shall not pay less than the prevailing rates of wages to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics performing work under these specifications and any subsequent contract(s), and shall comply with the requirements of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq). The specifications and terms herein shall govern the relationship between the Board of Education of Park Forest - Chicago Heights School District 163 and the successful bidder with respect to the work to be performed. The Board of Education of Park Forest - Chicago Heights School District 163 reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, waive any or all irregularities or technicalities in the bid, and award the bid in the manner that best serves the interests of the Board of Education.
