The Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) is seeking qualifications from individuals or entities with experience and demonstrated positive past performances with the design and construction of fish deterrence systems and irrigation diversion structures. This would include an extensive knowledge - ability - and skill in design and construction/installation of new and modified fish barrier or behavioral guidance systems - such as weirs - dams - fish traps - and water control structures. Additional items include a demonstration of knowledge and understanding of hydrologic processes and modeling - fish behavior related to interactions with fish deterrence systems and traps - and all relevant state and federal laws - codes - regulations - standards - provisions - and environmental compliance. Question Deadline 05/31/2024 at 12:00 PM MT Questions or clarifications must be submitted in writing or email to Carlos Camacho, Fisheries Bureau, and received Direct written requests to: Carlos Camacho, Fisheries Bureau 2885 W Kathleen Ave. Coeur dAlene, Idaho 83815 Email: carlos.camacho@idfg.idaho.gov Phone number: (208) 770-3768 The purpose of this project is to replace an electric fish weir on Palisades Creek near Irwin, Idaho. Palisades Creek is a tributary to the mainstem of the South Fork of the Snake River and is located downstream of Palisades Dam. The weir is used to deter all fish from migrating upstream and the integrated trap is used to passively lure migrating fish into a collection and holding area. IDFG personnel remove trapped fish and selectively release Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout upstream of the weir. This process effectively removes non-native and undesirable fish, such as Rainbow Trout, from the waters above the weir. The weir is adjacent and partially connected to an irrigation diversion. Five headgates are operated between May and October by Palisades Irrigation District Co. Inc to provide up to approximately 130 cfs of irrigation water Figure 2) IDFG reserves the right to reject any and all proposals - to waive any irregularities in the proposals received and to accept the proposal(s) that are in the best interest of the Department. shortlist confirmed
