LOCATIONS OF AGENCY PROPERTY: 889 Oak Street, Bakersfield Waiver of Irregularity: The Housing Authority reserves the right to waive any or all irregularities and may reject any or all bids and may make decisions concerning best value when various materials are included in the bid. All inquires regarding this Invitation for Bids should be directed to Laura Shears, Administrative Coordinator at (661) 631-8500 ext. 2402. The purpose and intent of this Invitation for Bid is to establish a firm fixed price term contract for lawn maintenance: A. For the common areas at 889 Oak Street. Attached is a map with the common areas highlighted. NOTE: Maintenance of the common area towards back of property (currently pool area) will start in July. B. All bid pricing must include material costs, including fertilizer, rye seed and weed/insect control C. Contractor to field verify all existing conditions and bid according. If necessary, contractor shall in writing to the Housing Authority submit a RFI (request for information) and/or clarifications seven days prior to bid date and will be addressed via addendum. The period of this contract shall begin June 1, 2024 and be in effect for a period of two (2) years with the option to extend for another two (2) year period. The contract will continue in effect on a month-to-month basis, unless otherwise terminated in accordance with the provisions of this agreement. Either party may terminate this agreement for any reason upon 30 day written notice. SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor agrees to supply labor, equipment and materials to provide lawn maintenance that will include: o Mow, edge and remove grass trimmings once every week o Trim low-hanging branches from the trees minimum 6' o Trim shrubs as needed o Control weeds in lawns and flower beds o Apply fertilizer every sixty days o Blow off all hard surfaces o Plant winter rye for winter coverage. o Contractor further agrees to advise the Housing Authority of any damage to lawn sprinkler system. If damage is caused by contractor, repair will be their responsibility.
