Questions Due June 03, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. Bidders shall submit questions via email to SRI KRISHNAMURTHY at Sridharan.krishnamurthy@chp.ca.gov. The Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) is soliciting bids from firms to provide Parking Lot Sweeping Services. Bids must address all services described in Exhibit A entitled, Scope of Work that is included in the Proposed Agreement Forms/Exhibits section of this IFB. Exhibit A contains a detailed description of the services and work to be performed, as a result of this IFB including those terms in the referenced exhibits. License Requirements: County or City Business License. DVBE Participation requirement waived, incentive only. Prevailing wage rates apply. Contractor agrees to provide to the Department of California Highway Patrol (CHP) Gilroy Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility (CVEF) Northbound (N/B) and Southbound (S/B), the services described herein: furnish all supplies, materials, tools, equipment, labor, personnel, and supervision; pay all taxes, insurance, bonds, license and permit fees, and all other direct and indirect costs necessary to provide Bi-monthly (two times per month) Parking Lot Sweeping Services in accordance with the terms A. License Requirement: Local City or County license. B. Contractor shall provide a Certificate of Insurance in accordance with the Insurance Requirements found in this Agreement (Exhibit E). A. Contractor shall provide a heavy-duty mechanical broom street sweeper, e.g., Elgin Eagle or equivalent, to provide sweeping service to the entire parking lot area and roadway lanes. Contractor to provide a mobile or heavy-duty dustless power vacuum attachment capable of removing all debris and leaves from the paved parking area, fence line, etc. Hand blowing will be required in areas the sweeper will not reach. B. Contractor to provide service twice monthly. Contractor shall notify the CHP on-site contact the date and time of service one week prior to the work being completed. C. Contractor to ensure that all debris is removed from the premises including the refuse and debris that may accumulate around the building, in the parking lot, and roadway lanes. This shall include removal of debris and leaves in corners, behind wheel stops, along all fence lines, and recessed areas which are accessible by the mobile unit. D. All services shall be performed by trained competent workers. E. Any work found unsatisfactory shall be redone before the next scheduled service at no additional cost to the State. In the event of equipment failure, Contractor must respond with back-up personnel and power sweeper within two (2) working days at no additional charge to the CHP. Contractor must respond to all recalls within Twenty-Four (24) hours after notification from the CHP on-site contact or the CHP Facilities Coordinator. After two (2) recalls for unsatisfactory work, the State reserves the right to terminate the contract. F. During inclement weather, the Contractor is to schedule an appointment with CHP on-site contact for make-up service. G. All quotations for additional services not covered under this Agreement are to be provided by the Contractor at no cost to the state. H. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service location. Any damage caused by Contractor to State equipment, materials, or other property shall be repaired or replaced by Contractor to the satisfaction of the state at no cost to the state. The state may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof.
