The July 2023 storm, due to a combination of rain totals, water volume and force, soils, and debris, significantly damaged destabilized and eroded slopes in multiple locations along the North Randolph Road, including the two sections subject The project sits adjacent to an unnamed tributary of Snows Brook and access is limited due to the slopes on each side of the project areas. State approval to work in the water has been acquired. Slope Stabilization Project Area: 1. Using the attached design from the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, stabilize the slope in the primary project area. Please note, work shall be performed in a manner that does not encroach into the pre-flood channel cross-section, and that also meets all required Stream Alteration General Permit and Performance Standards to the extent possible. 2. Provide a stream survey, structure shop drawings, and a dewatering/flow control plan. 3. Hold a pre-construction meeting with Town and State staff on site prior to starting the work. Slope Stabilization Exploration Project Area: 1. Provide specific and limited excavation services on a separate, future project site to determine the extent of ledge present. 2. Exploratory work shall be done in a manner that that does not encroach into the pre-flood channel cross-section, and that also meets all required Stream Alteration General Permit and Performance Standards to the extent possible.
