Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.

13th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Drexel to Rawson consists of the following items for work: Concrete Curb & Gutter (Hand set) 2,900 L.F., Concrete Driveway Approach 400 S.Y., Concrete Sidewalk & Service walk 9,300 S.F., Concrete Curb Ramp 1,900 S.F., Asphalt Pavement Milling 14,000 S.Y., Asphalt Surface 1,400 TONS, Asphalt Base 2,100 TONS and other miscellaneous quantities of unclassified excavation, base aggregate, and saw cutting. Items applicable to the above work is in the contract document. The document set describes items and final quantities for each bid proposal. It is anticipated that contracts will be awarded by the South Milwaukee Common Council on June 4, 2024 and the work for this project completed by November 1, 2024, unless otherwise allowed by the City Engineer. Utility work under a different contract shall be completed by July 12, 2024. Site Address: 2424 15th Avenue Site Directions: 13th Avenue (Drexel to Marquette) and 13th Avenue (Milwaukee to Rawson), South Milwaukee Wisconsin Est. Completion Date: Nov. 1, 2024 Pre-Qualification: Yes Proposals must be placed in a sealed opaque envelope addressed to : "City Clerk, City of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin" and marked "13th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Drexel to Rawson and 4th Avenue Pavement Rehabilitation Michigan to Menomonee (Alternate - A)". If the bid is sent by mail, the sealed envelope shall be enclosed in a separate mailing envelope with the notation "Sealed Bid Enclosed" on the face thereof. This item consists of removal and disposal of existing asphalt pavement as shown on the plans and as determined necessary for roadway rehabilitation and utility reconstruction. Existing pavement section on 13 th Avenue from (Drexel to Marquette) is 2 1/2” to 4 ½” asphalt over 3” to 15 ½” pulverized material (previously pulverized asphalt, stone, and soil mix). The existing pavement section on 13 th Avenue (Milwaukee to Rawson) is an overlayed pan and 3” to 4 ½” asphalt over 8 ½” to 15” pulverized material. Existing pavement section on 4 th Avenue from (Michigan to Menomonee) is 2 1/2” to 5” asphalt over 4 ½” to 13 ½” pulverized material (previously pulverized asphalt, stone, and soil mix). The existing subgrade material shall be re-used after milling/profiling by minor grading, shaping, and compacting and is included in this item. The subgrade shall be graded to 4% maximum cross slope from gutter flange to the centerline and roller compacted. (To allow for 4.5” asphalt paving and 4% maximum cross slope, the mill depth will vary from 4.5” at curb flange and 5.5” at centerline.) Following proof roll, any over-excavation of subgrade and placement of new stone base shall be performed under Item No. 7 Excavate and Fill Subgrade.
