This contract is for works to be completed on multiple construction site locations including the entire length of the FSR to the worksite. Crews will danger tree assess and fall all necessary trees that are required to make the site safe. This project is for Danger Tree Assessment and Falling on worksites next to Forest Service Roads within the Cascades Natural Resource District. o Danger Tree Assessment must be completed in accordance with applicable WorkSafe BC regulations. Also See Guideline for Hand Falling Activities - Appendix 3. o Most project areas are within 1 to 2 hours travel (one way) from Merritt BC. o The marshalling point for this contract is Merritt, BC. o The rates supplied will be all found including all equipment, wages, fuel, and transportation. o The Contractor must be able to provide adequate traffic control measures as required by the Ministry. o The contractor must start on project areas within seven (7) days following the date they are assigned by The Ministry, unless otherwise approved by the Contract Coordinator. o All Assessments must be completed by a certified BC Wildfire/Danger Tree Assessor who is certified under the "Forest Harvest & Silviculture" module. o All falling activities are undertaken by fallers certified by BC Forest Safety Council (BCFSC) or ENFORM and are qualified for the slope and timber conditions being addressed, and a qualified Falling Supervisor satisfactory to the Province is designated for all hand falling activities. A Falling Supervisor will be deemed qualified where: - It has satisfactorily completed the BCFSC Falling Supervisor Training course; or - It is BCFSC Falling Supervisor Certified o Contractor must have a minimum of 3 years' experience with Danger Tree Assessment and Falling works
