Renovation of a mixed-use development in North Parkersburg, West Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Wood County Schools is requesting bids for the following: Floor Removal and Installation at Blennerhassett Elementary, Blennerhassett Middle, Edison Middle, Emerson Elementary, Gihon Elementary, Jackson Middle, Jefferson Elementary, Kanawha Elementary, Martin Elementary, Mineral Wells Elementary, and Neale Elementary. After the bid opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by a representative of the Wood County Schools (hereinafter referred to as the "Owner"). The Owner or any of its employees will not be responsible for any unmarked bids opened. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5% of the bid. The successful bidder shall submit a Performance and Material Bond within ten (10) calendar days of award notification. Failure to submit a Performance Bond nullifies the Bid. The successful bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin. No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, to waive all the informalities in the bidding process to the extent permitted by law, to reject any or all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of the Owner. Pursuant to Chapter 21 - Article 11 of the "West Virginia Contractor Licensing Act" all Contractors doing business in West Virginia must be licensed to perform work in the State. The Contractor's WV License number shall be affixed to all submitted construction bids and fully executed and binding construction contracts and agreements. Question Deadline 05/24/2024 at 10:00 AM ET Questions shall be submitted to Ashley Brown at ashley.m.brown@k12.wv.us. Questions shall be received date and time to receive an answer. The Owner shall have the right to reject any or all bids and to reject a bid not accompanied by the required bid security or by other data required by the bidding documents or to reject a bid which is in any way incomplete or irregular The Owner shall have the right to reject a bid based on a bidder's past work practices (with the Owner and/or other firm/government agency). In addition, any judgments or complaints against a bidder shall be cause to reject a bid. The Owner shall be the sole determiner as to bid acceptance or rejection. The contract shall be considered initiated at the issuance of a Purchase Order. Work may be initiated at receipt of the purchase order. (Specific location start dates TBD.) Substantial completion of this project shall be no later than August 1st, 2024. The contractor who has not substantially completed the project and vacated the premises by the above stated completion date shall be subject to Liquidated Damages.
