construction and related services for the Apron Expansion project (the "Work") at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport. This project is anticipated to receive a Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The selected firm must be familiar with the process and required documentation associated with the FAA's grant process. This includes, but is not limited to, FAA grant assurances, FAA airport design standards, 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 77 airspace requirements, as well as familiarization with applicable FAA Orders, Advisory Circulars (AC), and Interim Guidance Project Background The apron space at Gate 16 and at Gate 18 will be expanded to accommodate the two passenger boarding bridges, and to accommodate larger aircraft that could potentially utilize the two gates. The current apron allows enough wing clearance for smaller regional jet aircraft, but it is too confined to allow safe movements of larger aircraft, such as the Boeing 737 or the Airbus 320, both currently flown by multiple carriers. Expanding the apron area will ensure that both gates are able to handle varied sizes of aircraft and will allow the JMAA to maximize the revenue potential from both gate areas. Scope of Work The project consists, but is not limited to the expansion of the existing terminal apron with a new concrete pavement section, removal of a portion of the existing west employee parking lot, removal of parking lot lighting, removal of drainage structures, relocating a portion of perimeter fence, earthwork, sidewalk construction, parking lot marking removal and installation, and handicap sign installation.
