In its current form, the park hosts a range of facilities, including a playground structure, volleyball courts, picnic shelters, and open turf space. Constructed in 2008, the existing 6,200 sq. ft. playground structure and swing set area are under consideration by the Teton County Parks and Recreation Department for replacement. As a crucial component of Mike Yokel Park, the playground facilities require modernization upgrades to ensure they remain vibrant and attractive park features for 5- to 12-year-olds for years to come. Given that many playground features across Teton County date from a similar era, the objective for Mike Yokel Park is to introduce a modern playground alternative that offers unique, challenging, and exciting features, enhancing the park's appeal and longevity as a recreational destination. The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department is seeking proposals from qualified playground design/build firms. Proposals are for the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of replacement playground equipment for Mike Yokel Park. All playground equipment shall comply with the design specifications listed in the Request for Proposal. The playground equipment shall be age-appropriate based on the specifications and compliant with industry safety standards. Equipment shall fit within the provided playground environment as shown in (Appendix A), accommodating appropriate fall zones. All work, including the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of replacement playground equipment, must consider the overall project budget of approximately $200,000. All existing demolition, site work, and new ground surfacing installation will be performed by an outside contractor independent of this RFP.
