Update: The purpose of this project is to ensure the District maintains operations of biosolids processing at the Dewatering & Drying facility as this process is critical in supporting permit compliance, providing Milorganite revenue, and maintaining efficient operations. The project will replace or upgrade heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure they efficiently heat, condition, and ventilate the areas they serve in the Dewatering & Drying Facility. HVAC systems are required to maintain Dewatering & Drying operations since failure can result in overheating of electrical equipment and reduced ventilation, both of which can lead to shutdowns of Dewatering & Drying processes. The project will also address NFPA 820 upgrades in the Dewatering & Drying Facility to improve safety and incorporate HVAC improvements to improve energy efficiency. The impacts of inflation are driving up costs.
