General Work Description: The project consists of rehabilitation of Decoto Road roadway from southern city limits (Alameda Creek bridge) to Station Way. Travel lanes geometry will be reconfigured to add a Class 2 buffered bike lane with improved visibility. The amount of bidder's security provided must equal at least ten percent (10%) of the total of the bid price for the base bid and the additive or deductive items listed in this notice. Performance Bond (100% of Contract Price. Payment/Labor and Materials Bond (100% of Contract Price). Maintenance Bond (Submitted prior to start of project, 10% of Base Bid). The Contractor shall possess a Class A California contractor's license at the time this contract is awarded. The Engineer's Estimate for the project base is Two Million Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($2,400,000). The allotted time to complete the project will be 80 working days (5-calendar day). SCOPE OF WORK: The work for both project locations shall include the following: a. The water system shall remain pressurized during all preventative valve maintenance work. b. Furnishing of all labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the preventative maintenance work. c. Individual valves are to be documented with a visual and operational inspection, d. Full replacement of all valve bonnet bolts/nuts, stuffing box bolts/nuts, operating nut hold down bolt, pressure plug and valve boxes. e. Required inclusions for this project are but not limited to the following: Traffic control, Saw cutting of roadway, Asphalt removal and disposal, Excavation, dewatering, Spoils removal and disposal, Valve preventative maintenance, Valve documentation/inspection, Resetting of new valve box, Import of sand and DGA backfill, Compaction and repaving/restoration of area.
