Site work for a civil project in Tredyffrin, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project consists of but is not limited to replacing the existing force main with a new force main that aligns through the public right of way, abandoning the existing force main in place, and installing a new magnetic flow meter in a new manhole adjacent to Station Avenue Pumping Station. The work includes but is not limited to construction of approximately 600 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer with appurtenances, approximately 400 LF of 6-inch HDPE Force Main in PennDOT right of way in July 2024, approximately 1,600 LF of 6-inch HDPE Force Main in Township right of way; installation of a new magnetic flow meter in new manhole with bypass and power/signal to the existing Station Avenue Pumping Station, installation of hot-taps, insertion valves, and restraining measures to accommodate piping improvements and pavement restoration for length of new force main/gravity sewer. All quantities are approximate and for informational purposes. Questions must be submitted via online by Friday, June 7, 2024, 4:00 PM, via online Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check drawn to the order of Tredyffrin Township, or a Bid Bond in favor of Tredyffrin Township, in the amount of 10 % of the bid price. Said check or bond shall be subject to the conditions provided in the Instructions to Bidders. This project will require a performance bond of 100%. The work in connection with this project constitutes a Public Works by a Public Body under Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act. Bidders are advised that prevailing minimum wage rates, promulgated by the Pennsylvania Secretary of Labor, must be paid to workmen employed on this project. No bid may be withdrawn within five (5) days of the date of the bid opening. Tredyffrin Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any bidding informalities. All bidders are required to establish proof of competency and responsibility in accordance with 67 PA Code Chapter 457, Regulations Governing Pre-qualifications Prospective Bidders. Scope of Work a. Replacement of Station Avenue Force Main. i. Installation of new force main 1. As shown on the plans - a. Existing force main abandoned in place. i. Question: What is the material of the existing pipe Answer: Cast iron and it will be abandoned in place. b. Approx. 600 LF of 8-inch gravity sewer with appurtenances. c. Approx. 400 LF of 6-inch HDPE Force Main in PennDOT Right of Way. d. Approx. 1,600 LF of 6-inch HDPE Force Main in Township Right of Way. ii. Installation of new magnetic flow meter in manhole adjacent to Station Avenue Pumping Station. 1. Power and signal will tie back into the existing Station Avenue Pumping Station. 2. Emphasized that the Township wants to use Endress and Hause Flowmeter to match what has already been placed in other pump stations throughout the township. b. Items for Consideration i. Please note that there are a variety of curb styles along this alignment. There are areas of granite block in various configurations and Contractor is advised to carefully document the various curb configurations if there is potential for disturbance. 1. Cassatt Ave and Bair Road are the streets most affected by various configurations. ii. Restoration - much of the new work is within residential areas. If grass or other areas are disturbed during the installation of the force main, the Contractor will need to restore these areas to as good or better. Documentation prior to work must be performed by the Contractor, and will also be performed by the Township inspector, to ensure the appropriate restoration is met. iii. Contractor to develop and submit for review and approval, a tie in plan for the new force main piping at the existing Station Avenue Pumping Station. iv. Work Hours 1. Work in PennDOT roadways must follow PennDOT requirements for work hours and conditions. 2. If work continues into school year, hours and conditions will be adjusted to accommodate school buses. v. There is a low-pressure sewer and some unknown utilities in Bair Road.
