Remove and dispose of existing playground equipment. Furnish and install new playground equipment and poured-in-place rubberized play surface in existing play area measuring approximately 70 feet by 70 feet. Playground equipment budget shall not exceed $135,000 and shall include: one 2 to 5 year unit, one 5 to 12 year unit, one ADA inclusive merry-go-round, two-bay swing frame with two standard swings. Existing accessible swings to be salvaged and reinstalled. Furnish and install perimeter curbing (concrete ribbon curb or rubber curbing) and poured- in-place safety surfacing complete with required excavation, stone subbase, and drainage system. Construction work shall start on or after September 3, 2024 and be substantially completed within sixty (60) days of the start of construction. No bidder may withdraw his proposal for a period of 60 days following the date set for receiving bids. The Town of Griffith reserves the right to retain any and all bids for a period of not more than 60 days and said bids shall remain in full force and effect during said time. The Town of Griffith further reserves the right to waive informalities and to award the contract to any Bidder all to the advantage of the Town of Griffith or to reject any and all bids. Each bid shall be accompanied by an acceptable certified check or bid bond payable to the Town of Griffith in an amount equal to 10 percent of the total bid price executed by an incorporated surety company in good standing and qualified to do business in the State of Indiana. Performance and Payment Bonds each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price shall be required. Standard Indiana Form 96, which includes non-collusion affidavit is required. If awarded the contract, the successful bidder shall be prepared to begin work within 15 days after the notice to proceed is issued. The work shall be completed by November 1, 2024 (final completion date). No Pre-bid Conference will be held
