Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

This section of Shawnee Mission Parkway is 0.5 miles in length and designated as a major arterial road. The existing road is curbed and has medians separating east and westbound traffic. This project will include mill and overlay, replacement of deteriorated curb and sidewalk, pavement markings, storm drainage facilities, and other appurtenant works. This street is a CARS eligible street. The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for FY 2025-2029 was heard for the last time before being approved by the Board of Shawnee City Commission at a meeting held on Monday, June 17. Many projects that have been on citizens’ minds were addressed in the plan, and they are now on a timeline. The largest budgeted projects are set to begin under the FY 2025 budget. As of June 25, 2024, project is funded for construction starting January 1, 2025 and completed November 15, 2026. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
