This is a new project that will be submitted for County Assistance Road System (CARS) program funding. In order to complete this project, the City share will be funded through the Street Maintenance Program. This project will include removal and replacement of damaged curb and sidewalk/ADA ramps, upgrading/repair of storm drainage facilities, mill and overlay of asphalt surface, new pavement markings, and retrofit new LED streetlight luminaires. The Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for FY 2025-2029 was heard for the last time before being approved by the Board of Shawnee City Commission at a meeting held on Monday, June 17. Many projects that have been on citizens’ minds were addressed in the plan, and they are now on a timeline. The largest budgeted projects are set to begin under the FY 2025 budget. As of June 25, 2024, this project is funded for construction starting January 1, 2027, with completion November 15, 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
