Questions must be submitted at least seven days before the bid due date. Question Deadline 06/13/2024 The City of Tybee Island, GA may (i) reject any, any part of, or all bids and proposals with any party submitting a bid or proposal, or (ii) waive informalities and technicalities, (iii) negotiate directly with any party submitting a bid or proposal, or (iv) accept that proposal which the City of Tybee Island, GA deems to be in its best interest, whether or not it is the lowest dollar proposal. Scope of Work: This project will consist of furnishing and installing a total of 37 double outlet posts on Butler Avenue, from 14th Street to Tybrisa Street (29), and Strand Avenue, from Tybrisa Street to 17 th Street (8). See Exhibit 1 for locations. Any existing electrical outlets will be removed and disposed of. The removal of brick pavers may be required for the installation of the new outlet posts. The existing electrical conduit is to be uncovered and re-used. Any repairs or extensions of the conduit to the proposed outlet locations will be included in the price of the work. The existing wiring is to be removed, and upgraded to a 10 gauge wire. Once new outlets posts are installed and connected, the pavers will be re-installed and the site will be cleaned up. If there are extensive repairs to the existing conduit, a price will be agreed upon with the City of Tybee Island prior to the work commencing. Project Specifications: o All electrical work will conform to current National Electric Code (NEC). o All proposed work will be performed by a licensed electrical contractor or his subsidiaries. o Furnish and install 29 double outlet posts for the Palm trees on Butler Avenue from 14th Street to Tybrisa Street. The double outlet posts will be Levitan Garden Posts, Model Number Gp-37b, 37-inch post with 18-inch extension. This outlet posts are to match the existing double outlet poles already install on Tybrisa Street from Butler Avenue to Strand Avenue. o Furnish and install eight (8) double outlet posts for the Palm trees on Strand Avenue from Tybrisa Street to 17th Street. The double outlet posts will be Levitan Garden Posts, Model Number Gp-37b, 37-inch post with 18-inch extension. This outlet posts are to match the existing double outlet poles already install on Tybrisa Street from Butler Avenue to Strand Avenue. o Furnish and install all new 10 gauge electrical wire to run from the existing panel box shown on the map in Exhibit A to all of the proposed outlet poles. o Furnish and install two (2) 20 amp weather resistant receptacles in each outlet post with a weatherproof cover. o Furnish and install a GFCI breaker on each electrical circuit per NEC. o The removal and replacement of all existing brick pavers will be included in the price of the installation of the double outlet posts. o The uncovering/unearthing of the existing conduit will be included in the price of the installation of the double outlet posts. Contractor shall include a minimum of two (2) feet of gray electrical 3/4 " conduit in the price of each outlet for the relocation of proposed outlet posts to their proposed location on the sidewalk side of each Palm tree. o All work will be guaranteed for one (1) year. MINORITY/FEMALE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: City of Tybee Island City Council established goals oriented to increase participation of minority and female owned businesses, through MBE/WBE certification and development. In order to accurately document participation, businesses submitting bids, quotes or proposals are encouraged to report owner ship status. A minority or women business is defined as a business that is at least 51% owned and managed by minority or women.
