Renovation of a municipal facility in Liberal, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
The Board of County Commissioners of Seward County, Kansas, will accept sealed bids of providing new office cabinetry and counter tops and their installation materials and labor to provide in the Seward County Treasurer Office, 515 N. Washington, Suite 102, Liberal, Kansas. A. Base Cabinets. 1. Provide and install two (2) sets of base cabinets to match existing base cabinets. Cabinets to be installed on the south and west walls. 2. Provide 4" toe kick under base cabinets. 3. Verify adequacy of backing and support framing for cabinet installation B. Upper Cabinets 1. Provide and install two (2) sets of upper cabinets. 2. Each set of cabinets shall consist of three (3) 36" wide x 32" tall two (2) door cabinets with 2 adjustable shelves per cabinet. 3. Cabinets shall be installed with bottom of cabinet @ 19" above finished countertop height. C. Custom Cabinets. 1. Two (2) cabinets custom built to fit existing openings approximately 32" wide x 22" deep x 8'6" height and 42" wide x 22" deep x 8'6" height. County Treasurer to provide specific design in regards to cabinet design for doors, shelving, rods, etc. Countertop. Provide and install countertops for each set of base cabinets. Countertop to be continuous and provided with backsplashes at back and sides of countertops that abut vertical surfaces. SPECIFICATIONS Cabinets: 1. Cabinets shall be birch veneered lumber for all exposed horizontal and vertical surfaces. 2. Shop Finishing: Grade-Premium AWI Finish System #2: Catalyzed lacquer-shop finish Stain: 200 Spiced Walnut Sheen: Satin Seal internal and semi-concealed surfaces 3. Drawer guides shall be roller carriage bottom mounted with epoxy coated finish with a 75-pound rating, 4. Adjustable shelf supports shall be heavy duty nylon designed for installation in pre-drilled holes in cabinet sides. 5. Hinges shall be heavy duty self-closing institutional type with dull chrome finish. 6. Pulls to be 4" U-shaped surface mounted to match existing pulls in office cabinetry. Countertop: 1. Countertops shall be high pressure laminate bonded to 3/4 " particle board core 1 1/2 " thickness minimum. 2. Laminate shall be MADRIS INDIAN SLATE 3688-77 manufactured by Formica. In the event product is unavailable Owner shall specify manufacturer and style. Base: 1. Install base at cabinet toe-kick. 2. Base - Manufacturer - Roffe, Type - Coved Rubber, Color - Black Brown P193 Matte, Height - 4" All contractors and subcontractors that work on the project must be licensed with Seward County and shall obtain all necessary permits and inspections. There will be no permit fees charged for this project. In the event an accepted bidder's contract price is $25,000 or greater, the accepted bidder will be required to provide a payment bond and performance bond equal to 100% percent of the contract price. Such bond will be required at contract signing. Solicitations from qualified minority and women owned businesses, firms and individuals are encouraged by Seward County. This encouragement does not infer preference and all solicitations will be evaluated equally. All purchases shall give preference to Seward County merchants when applicable. Award shall be made to the best bidder within Seward County when the amount is not more than five percent (5%) higher than the best out-of-county bid. Work to be completed no later than _90__ days from the award of the bid and completion of contracts. The Board of County Commissioners of Seward County, Kansas reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, the right to waive any or all irregularities therein, and the right to accept the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the County.
