Lawton Drive Fuel Mitigation. This project shall be funded in full through the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Alaska Region, State, Private, and Tribal Forestry - Community Wildfire Protection Plan Implementation Project. The full and complete terms and provisions of which shall be incorporated by this reference in the ITB and in the covered transaction. Federal funds for this project are identified by the Assistance Listing Number 10.730 Community Project Funds-2023 Congressionally Directed Spending. The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified contractors to provide all labor & materials for land surveying of identified parcels along with selectively cutting/felling all dead standing spruce trees of all size classes as well as spruce that are currently bark beetle infested. If the bid exceeds $100,000 the following apply: Certified check, bank cashier's check, or bid bond, made payable to the Kenai Peninsula Borough amount equal to five (5%) percent of the total bid, shall accompany each bid as evidence of good faith, a guarantee that if awarded the contract, the Bidder will execute the contract and give bond as required. This contract is subject to the provision of State of Alaska, Title 36, Minimum Wage Rates. The subsequent contract will require certificates of insurance and may require performance and payment bonds. This project is intended to address dead spruce fuels to mitigate levels of public risk. Components of this project include land surveying of identified parcels to delineate treatment areas. The Contractor will cut dead/standing trees as specified and complete forest fuel treatments as described. The Kenai Peninsula Borough hereby invites qualified contractors to provide all labor & materials for land surveying of identified parcels in addition to selectively cutting/felling all dead standing spruce trees of all size classes as well as spruce that are currently bark beetle infested. The Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive minor irregularities in any bids or in the bidding procedure, and to accept any bid presented which meets or exceeds said specifications and which is deemed to be in the best interest of the Borough. According to the State of Alaska Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), small and minority businesses, women's business enterprises, and labor surplus area firms are encouraged to bid.
