The scope of work consists of evaluation and renovation of the sprinkler, alarm, and ancillary fire system components, as necessary, to comply with current NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems or NFPA 13R, Residential Sprinkler Systems, as applicable, and NFPA 72, National Fire Alarm & Signaling Code, currently adopted by the Jurisdiction of Authority. Project Location: Sunset View, 401 2nd Street, Cordova, Alaska 99574. Sunset View is a 22-unit senior housing facility, type V-A construction, sprinkler substituted for 1-hour construction. The building is wood stud construction, four floors with a building height of 50 feet, totaling 22,377 square feet. Typical unit size is 400 square feet. The building has both attic and crawl spaces. Modifications may require but are not limited to: New chases and/ or soffits to conceal piping and or wiring; Relocation of existing heads, and /or addition of new heads; Cutting and patching of existing walls, floors, and ceilings to accommodate sprinkler and/or fire alarm devices; Addition of detection and/or signaling devices; Installation of draft stops; and control panel modification.
