This Request for Supplier Qualifications (the "RFSQ") is an invitation by City of Kingston (the "City") to prospective respondents to qualify in accordance with Evaluation of Responses (Part 4) for its Request for Supplier Qualifications to develop a vendor roster list for Detached Additional Residential Units Detached Additional Residential Units ("ARU"), also known as garden suites, in-law suites, or carriage houses are small, self-contained housing units that are located on the same property as a primary residence, typically occupying a portion of the rear yard area. Detached ARUs have an independent washroom, kitchen, living and sleeping space. These units provide a range of benefits, including increased housing options available in the community, rental income for property owners, affordability for renter households, gentle intensification in lower-density neighbourhoods, and efficient use of existing public infrastructure. ARUs can also provide housing solutions for multi-generational households looking to accommodate aging family members or adult children.
