At this time, the estimated construction start date is April 2028 and the estimated construction completion date is November 2029. The District consists of two campuses, the Pacific Coast Campus located at 1305 East. Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA 90806 and the Liberal Arts Campus located at 4901 East Carson Street, Long Beach, CA 90808. Since 1927, Long Beach City College (LBCC) has been at the heart of the community providing educational programs with a commitment to excellence in student learning in a culturally diverse and vibrant environment. The District is a two-year community college that encompasses state of the art, technology-rich learning environments, a broad range of academic and career technical instructional programs, strong community partnerships, and economic and workforce development initiatives that prepare students to be successful in the 21st century. As one of the largest of the 116 community colleges in California, the District is governed by the five-member, elected Board of Trustees. The geographic service area of the District includes the cities of Long Beach, Signal Hill, Lakewood, and Santa Catalina Island. The District offers numerous associate degrees and certificate programs which prepare students for transfer to four-year institutions, career advancement, and personal development. Project Overview. The Project consists of the design and construction of the following facilities and related improvements. Three level student housing facility with rooftop deck Approximately 22 residential units - variety of studios, 1-bedroom, and 2-bedrooms Support services for residents Multipurpose rooms Study spaces Parking lot, landscape, solar, EVCS, and infrastructure The project located on the corner of Atlantic Ave. & 59 th Street consists of the construction of a new student housing building. The project is proposed as three-stories with a rooftop deck. The preliminary design concept includes utilization of the entire lot for both building and parking while taking into consideration, the City of Long Beachs setback requirements. The building is approximately 25,000 GSF with 22 parking spaces. Floor 1 includes two flex rooms/spaces, offices, kitchen/pantry, and building support services. Floors 2 & 3 includes a mix of bedrooms, study rooms, and other building support services. Floor 4 is a roof top deck.
