Renovation of a mixed-use development in Bluefield, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
The Tazewell County School Board is accepting sealed bids for the removal and installation of porcelain tile at the Graham Middle School Cafeteria. For more information, contact Eugene Parkhurst at 276-988-2222. o All kitchen/serving line access doors shall remain closed and locked. o Locked doors shall be sealed with plastic and taped to prevent dust, dirt and grit from entering into the space and equipment in the kitchen and service line. o Remove old tile and adhesive. Clean up and dispose of all debris. o Install crack suppression as needed. o Install epoxy grout. o Install new tile. o The Contractor shall provide all the necessary engineering, material procurement, management, labor, materials, tools, equipment, supplies, services, components and disposal/recycling necessary to complete the removal of old tile and installation of new tile to the satisfaction of TCPS. o The Contractor, by commencing work, assumes overall responsibility to assure that all assemblies, components, and parts for the project are compatible with each other and with the conditions and expected use. o The Contractor further warrants that all workmanship shall be of the highest quality and in accordance with contract documents and shall be performed by persons qualified at their respective trades. Defects discovered during the warranty period shall be corrected by the Contractor to the School's satisfaction and at no expense to the School Division. o The Contractor shall verify all dimensions and conditions before installation of work. o Contractor shall, without additional expense to TCPS, be responsible for obtaining any necessary licenses and building permits required to complete work under this contract, and for complying with any federal, state and municipal laws, codes and regulations applicable to the performance of the work. o The Contractor is responsible to protect all existing and newly installed work, materials, equipment, improvements, utilities, structures, and vegetation at all time during the course of this contract. Any property or incidentals damaged during the course of this contract shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to include all cost to repair or replace to the satisfaction of TCPS. o The Owner intends to occupy the existing building during the entire construction period. Contractor shall cooperate with staff to minimize conflict and to facilitate Owner's Operations. Contractor shall coordinate all activities, including use of site, with School Administrative Personnel. o Contractor shall limit use of the premises to work in areas indicated. Confine operations to areas within contract limits indicated. Do not disturb portions of the site beyond the areas in which the Work is indicated. o The contractor expressly undertakes, either directly or through his subcontractor(s), to clean up frequently all refuse, rubbish, scrap materials, and debris caused by his operations, to the end that at all times the site of the work shall present a neat, orderly, and workmanlike appearance. No such refuse, rubbish, scrap material, and debris shall be left within the completed work nor buried on the building site, but shall be removed from the site and properly disposed of in a licensed landfill or otherwise as required by law. o Contractor to install per manufacturer's specifications and comply with requirements of referenced standards and recommendations of material manufacturers for environmental conditions before, during and after installation
